Dozens of houses inundated in Nawalparasi

Posted by Anup Baral July 22, 2016 :
The presence of ‘monsoon line’ has invited rain across the country on Thursday. Meteorologist Meen Kumar Aryal told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti that the concentration of the monsoon activity in the low pressure area has effected the precipitation throughout the country. “Monsoon line is the isobar covering the low pressure areas with developing rain. This has entered from the eastern side of Nepal,” Aryal explained, “The change in weather is a result of the effect of the convergence in the low pressure belt of the moisture-laden winds coming from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.” Weatherman Aryal added that the intermittent rain which has continued to occur over the last three or four days will stretch to extra three days.

Meanwhile, the meteorologists have urged members of the general public to remain alert towards an upsurge of flood and landslide incidents in eastern region of the nation. According to data provided by the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Simara has received the highest rainfall of 160 millimetres today. Okhaldhunga experienced the lowest of 0.2 millimetres.
