Nepali Congress student union election today

Local representatives from Nepali Congress-affiliated student union are voting for their new leadership on Wednesday, more than a week past the pre-determined date for the polls. According to Nepal Student Union, voting began at 7 am and polling will remain open till 7 pm. Counting will begin after 8 pm. Since electronic voting is being used, results will be out in two hours, the union said.
A total of 129 posts in the executive committee are up for grabs. Of the eight who have filed nomination for president, Nainsingh Mahar is backed by party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and leader Krishna Sitaula. Similarly, Manoj Mani Acharya and Ananda Raj Tripathi have the blessing of Ram Chandra Paudel. onlinekhabar
