8 people die in a boat accident in Maikhola, Ilam

Posted by Anup Baral | October 16, 2016 : The death toll in Friday boat capsize in Maikhola of Ilam district has reached eight on Saturday as three more bodies were recovered this morning. Som Bahadur Bhandari, In-charge of the Danabari Police Post, said those found dead today have been identified as Pushpanjali and Tulasi Khadka (twins aged 6) from Madhumalla of Morang and Krishna Ghatani (30) from Salbadi of Jhapa.
Five bodies were recovered from the incident site yesterday. Meanwhile, police said seven of the eight victims have been identified as of Saturday. Chief of the Ilam District Police Office, SP Sushil Yadav, informed that police arrested the boatman Parshu Banskota for further investigation. While total 34 persons were rescued, some are still missing and the search is underway, according to Yadav. Police, army and locals had continued the search today throughout the day.

Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective. To view new customs, different ways of living is fantastic for the mind. It gives us a new perspective about life and especially our life, it can help us change some of our habits or even create new ones. When I travel I usually make it a point to try new food, some cultures don’t have fries in their diet and they are all skinny, others use spices to give taste and not oils or fats. Discovering different values and ways to get by in life is really interesting. You also need to visit exotic new places and discover what this wonderful world has to offer.
