45 Dead After Indore-Patna Express Derails In Train Accident Near Kanpur Today

At least 45 people were killed and more than 100 injured as 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna Express ran off the tracks today near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh this morning. The incident took place at around 3 am near Pukhrayan, about 100 km from Kanpur, At least 60 people are reported dead after a train derailed in nothern India on Sunday morning. It happened in the early hours in the nation's biggest state, Uttar Pradesh. The train was travelling between the northeastern city of Patna and the central city of Indore. More than 150 people are said to be injured. As rescue operations continue, it is still not clear what caused the accident.
