A meeting among the major ruling parties and protesting United Democratic Madhesi Front is taking place at the official residence of Prime Minister at Baluwatar in the capital today. It is learned that issues related to constitution amendment and local body elections will be discussed in the meeting. The meeting is being centered on forging consensus on the proposal of amending the constitution which was registered in the parliament on Tuesday and on the preparations for holding local body elections. Present in the meeting were Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi from ruling parties and Mahantha Thakur and Upendra Yadav among other leaders from UDMF.
