Posted by Anup Baral December 08, 2016 :
The UCPN (Maoist), which yesterday decided to form a new government under its leadership, has decided not to withdraw its support to the KP Sharma Oli-led government ‘for the time being’. According to sources, the UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, following his meeting with UML leaders— Jhalanath Khanal and Bamdev Gautam— on Thursday morning took the decision. The source further added that Khanal and Gautam requested Dahal not to topple the government before it could present the government’s policy and programs in parliament. The source said Dahal agreed to the request. According to sources, Dahal was also under immense pressure from the government ministers from his own party to backtrack on yesterday’s decision. “We have been informed that the UCPN (Maoist) will no discontinue its support to the government,” said a source close to Baluwatar (the prime minister’s official residence).
