YAN central member injured in Khukuri attack

Posted by Anup Baral December 30, 2016 : Ten days after CPN-UML-affiliated Youth Association Nepal (YAN) Rupandehi chapter Chairman Durga Tiwari was shot dead, YAN Central member Santosh Budathoki was attacked by a group of unidentified assailants on Thursday night. According to the police, Budathoki was attacked with a Khukuri knife at Kohalpur, Banke at around 9pm yesterday night. He has sustained serious injuries to his neck and is in critical condition. YAN spokesperson Prabhat Bikram Katuwal informed that Budathoki has been taken to a Luknow-based hospital in India for further medical treatment. Katuwal further warned of retaliation if attacks on people of the organisation continue.

Meanwhile, police have arrested five persons allegedly involved in attacking Santosh Budhathoki, 29, the central member of Youth Association Nepal, the youth wing of the CPN (UML). Budhathoki was seriously injured in the attack that took place last night. He has been taken to Lucknow, India for further medical treatment after preliminary treatment at here based Kohalpur Medical College.

Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective. To view new customs, different ways of living is fantastic for the mind. It gives us a new perspective about life and especially our life, it can help us change some of our habits or even create new ones. When I travel I usually make it a point to try new food, some cultures don’t have fries in their diet and they are all skinny, others use spices to give taste and not oils or fats. Discovering different values and ways to get by in life is really interesting. You also need to visit exotic new places and discover what this wonderful world has to offer.
