Nurses call off protest after deal with government

Posted by Anup Baral | January 19, 2018 :Nursing Association of Nepal has withdrawn its protest after signing an eleven-point agreement with the government today. As per the agreement, the government has ordered reinstatement of nurses who were sacked without following due procedure at Human Organ Transplant Centre. The government directed HOTC to reinstate nurses Trajina Jati, Sapana Deula and Sajana Deula on contract basis for three months and provide 75 per cent salary of Jati and Sajana for the period they were sacked.
The government has also agreed to form a task force to recommend salary hike of nurses, introduce the provision of appointing nurses in schools and factories, implement the nurse-to patient ratio in hospitals and end exploitation of nursing volunteers. “We withdrew our protest programmes as the government addressed all our demands,” said Ganga Thapa, acting chairperson of NAN.

Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective. To view new customs, different ways of living is fantastic for the mind. It gives us a new perspective about life and especially our life, it can help us change some of our habits or even create new ones. When I travel I usually make it a point to try new food, some cultures don’t have fries in their diet and they are all skinny, others use spices to give taste and not oils or fats. Discovering different values and ways to get by in life is really interesting. You also need to visit exotic new places and discover what this wonderful world has to offer.
