Solid waste, we generate consists of reusable and recyclable materials, which can be segregated and known as scrap wastes. The objective of this study is to identify the scrap waste material and assess their quantitative amount collected and cost benefit analysis of scrap waste business with in Kathmandu valley. Direct observations, formal and informal discussion, field study with questionnaire were used for data acquisition. 33 random samples, out of 178 scrap shop were selected for study. In general, 28.98 % of the waste generated is scrap waste in Kathmandu Valley. Among this only 6.43 % of scrap waste of total is collected. This makes in total of 241,968.00 kg and 154,458.00 pieces per month worth a selling value of Rs.617,174.00. The scrap dealers make a profit of Rs. 15,260,238 after paying tax amount of Rs.4,367,430.00. Form fiscal year 2009/10 government has scraped the scrap tax; it is now less liquidation and more financial. This study clearly indicates the economics significant of scrap waste which is a common component of municipal solid waste. Keywords: solid waste, recycle, reuse, scrap, kabadi.

Going on vacation lets us recharge our “batteries” by disconnecting us from our regular life. When we come back we feel invigorated and we are happy to be back in our day to day routine. It’s a very good stress remover that has a lot more to give than most people are willing to accept.

Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective. To view new customs, different ways of living is fantastic for the mind. It gives us a new perspective about life and especially our life, it can help us change some of our habits or even create new ones. When I travel I usually make it a point to try new food, some cultures don’t have fries in their diet and they are all skinny, others use spices to give taste and not oils or fats. Discovering different values and ways to get by in life is really interesting. You also need to visit exotic new places and discover what this wonderful world has to offer.
