In what would remind a scene from a gothic horror movie, a 29-year-old man from Kohalpur-4, Banke, surrendered before the Area Police Office in Kahalpur, on Monday with the decapitated head of his wife. He came to the police post on a bicycle with the decapitated head wrapped in clothes. As per Bedawa's statement, a police team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Suresh Prasad Kafle reached the incident site and recovered the body of his wife. Their four-month-old child was found crying in incident site. The 26-year-old victim was the first wife of the perpetrator who married another wife four years ago."We immediately reached the site and rescued the child. The perpetrator killed the woman in cold blood," said DSP Kafle, adding that the suspect came to the police post soon after the crime.Police suspect that Khulsan was murdered at around 10 pm.During the police interrogation, Bedawa said that he stabbed his wife’s breast thrice with a knife before slitting her throat. Bedawa ekes out his living as a mason. He married Khulsan 13 years ago who gave birth to six children. The investigation officers quoted the villagers as saying that the couple often had disputes.Following the request of the relatives and neighbours, Bedawa and his wife Khulsan set off for a mosque in Baharaich, the bordering town of India, for religious swearing of not fighting anymore. However, they returned home as they were late to catch the vehicle for Bahraich in Rupaidiha. It is suspected that a minor dispute on the way back from the mosque could have led to the crime. The incident site is about 2 km away from their house.Police have arrested Bedawa and initiated investigation.Mohammad Aftab Bedawa of Belanpur reached the police post at around 10:30 pm yesterday and surrendered himself saying that he beheaded his wife Khulsan.

Guide of the month: January 2018

Traveling gives us the opportunity to disconnect from our regular life. You get to forget your problems/issues for a few weeks, it can also help you figure things out that you would not have understood without the distance traveling can give you. We all have crazy schedules, work and a family to take care of, going away alone or with some friends can give you distance and perhaps even make you realize how important these people are for you. Like the saying says: we never know what we have until we lose it.

Another great benefit is the relaxation you get to do. It’s nice to live life to its fullest and enjoy a stress free time with yourself. Going on vacation lets us recharge our “batteries” by disconnecting us from our regular life. When we come back we feel invigorated and we are happy to be back in our day to day routine. It’s a very good stress remover that has a lot more to give than most people are willing to accept.

Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective. To view new customs, different ways of living is fantastic for the mind. It gives us a new perspective about life and especially our life, it can help us change some of our habits or even create new ones. When I travel I usually make it a point to try new food, some cultures don’t have fries in their diet and they are all skinny, others use spices to give taste and not oils or fats. Discovering different values and ways to get by in life is really interesting. You also need to visit exotic new places and discover what this wonderful world has to offer.
